Street poetry is a new kind of street art in Melbourne, Australia, where poets leave their writing on the streets for strangers to find in a similar way to painters and other kinds of street artists. It’s paste-up art, basically, with an emphasis on the words rather than the colours. Poetry is art, and so it can be a kind of street art if it makes it onto the streets. As a street poet, I’m planning to visit as many places in Australia as possible, leaving my poetry behind me in a long (and documented) trail, to spread hope and peace to as many people as possible while having fun doing so! Here’s my latest YouTube vlog, where I visit Geelong. I’ve done Ballarat, the Great Ocean Road, South Gippsland, Melbourne CBD and various inner and outer city suburbs around Melbourne. More to come!
