I'm working an a project of urban intervention which is technically illegal as is street art. The project itself implies hanging up street signs (emulating real signs wich give directions and indications on the street) with phrases I made up. I was told I should maybe look into applying for the author rights of my intellectual property, however i'm not sure what to do. On the one hand having the rights to my idea means i can be in control of whether someone else can copy it (copy it and do it wrong/misinterpret the meaning i gave to my work/plagiarize/steal ownership/etc). On the other hand, this project will be done in secrecy (implemented during the night when no cops are around) and i feel its kind of stupid to apply for rights to my own goverment.
